Easter

Easter morning was a beautiful day; a slight breeze and clear skies! We started our morning by having brunch with Walter. We had a yummy breakfast and used our china to celebrate. Then the Easter Bunny went to the grass area behind our house and hid eggs. Walt came with us to hunt for eggs.

Our church is at 11:00. At 10:35 I was scrambling to get the boys in their Sunday clothes. We finally got them ready and off we went with Walt in tow. I helped sing in the choir and team taught sharing time. After church we changed again and went up to Peoria for dinner with Kirsten and gang. Thanks for dinner! Mark is handy on the grill.
We especially reinforced that Easter is about Jesus and not about candy, presents or bunnies. I hid pictures of the Easter story in the eggs and we looked at them during Sacrament meeting. This was a nice day with friends and family.

No Cavities

I had a dental cleaning on Friday and was cavity free. Thank goodness! I've spent enough this year on my teeth. I sent a text to Dan saying, 'no cavities'. He called me shortly after and said he was taking me to dinner and already had a babysitter lined up. He came home with a beautiful bouquet of calla lilies and purple irises. We went to eat at Dino's Greek and Italian Restaurant. Yummy, I had a little lamb kabobs and Dan had tortellini.
June suggested I call every Friday and tell him that I still don't have cavities! Thank you hubby for a very nice night out for two. I'm certain the two events were not related, but it was a very nice reward nonetheless.

Tag! Where did your kids' names come from?

Alexander Daniel Black. Yep, it is lengthy. I don't think I have even explained that 'Daniel' is in his name yet! Well, I found out I was having a boy and so Grandma insisted we name him (she didn't like us calling him Acorn). So we were on a quest. I was listening to NPR and a segment came on about the Library of Alexandria. Yes, yes, Alexander! That was perfect. Everyone agreed and he was no longer lil' Acorn. It is perfect when you consider how much I love both NPR and books. Daniel is a no brainer. We thought it would be good to have the eldest son carry the Dad's name.
Ryan Vincent Black. Well, I named him Timothy Robert, but Dan refused to put it on the papers. Actually, 'Ryan' came from Dan's sisters on the phone in Tucson. We needed a name and fast! 'Vincent' is from our Italian roots. Great Grandpa Pasquale Vincent Frassa is the only living Great grandfather and we honored him. We debated, 'Pasquale or Vincent,' I guess that was a no brainer too!

Bailey Wedding

Congratulations Emily and Zachary!
We had a fun weekend celebrating with them. Friday night the sisters (they let me come even though I'm an in-law sister) went shopping and then we stayed in a hotel getting ready for Saturday morning. Em and I got up before the sun so we could take her to the hair salon.
After much shuffling around, everyone arrived at the temple. It was a beautiful day! The sealing was very special (of course!) and the Spirit was defiantly there approving the match. There were lots of tears and hugs, and some kissing, and then the events began. Pictures, a luncheon, a 4 hr drive from Mesa to Tucson thanks to an accident on I-10, and a heavily attended reception. Mr and Mrs Baily made out like bandits. The question is, where will they store all of that stuff? I guess they will have a week in the Caribbean to discuss it.
Pictures: Here are a few and IF YOU CLICK HERE YOU WILL BE TAKEN TO A WEBSITE THAT HAS THE REST.
Thanks to Emily and Zach for letting me help out when I could. I love Emily and am glad to have Zach in the family!

Ah, yes Ryan was a distraction the whole day!

Grandma's favorites (But which one is first!)

Ryan loves Zach. Zach is a great uncle. He plays with Ryan and they make each other laugh.

Orbit

Alex and I painted this solar system. He got it for his birthday. We hung it up on his ceiling. He is sick today. I have a lot to do to help sister Emily get ready for her wedding day on Saturday! This will be a busy week for us Blacks in Goodyear!

San Diego

We went to San Diego on Alex's birthday. Kirsten, Mark, Trey and Coby went as well. We had a fun time going to Sea World, to the bay to fly kites, to the canyon to play in the mud and to dinner for fresh sea food. Thanks to Grandma for hosting us once again. Thanks to Trey for giving up perfect attendance to play with Alex. I know he had a much better time because you were there.
