Don't be alarmed

I now dub Macey as 'She who eats Scorpions'. Why? Yesterday in between painting classes I found Macey on the floor next to a dead scorpion (like, way dead, not that minute dead). Macey was chomping like she had put something in that she couldn't eat. That something was the stinger end of the scorpion. Yes, my beautiful little girl found a scorpion in my house and proceeded to eat it! Really, there must have been a horde of angels watching over her, because dead or alive that stinger can be lethal for an infant. She had no symptoms or side affects. Now an hour after this happened she did crawl in the kitchen and found a candy wraper that she did gag and puke up. Apparently our house isn't baby proof yet!
I know this doesn't look like the bored I described in an earlier post, but it does look like what they have been doing the most lately. Two new games and 105deg make the odds better for e-time for these beautiful boys.
After 8 years of our round table, we have finally grown-up. This is our new table. It seats six plus a leaf for 2 more. We got 6 parson chairs, plus the 2 I already had in the front room. I am lame: I put a clear plastic cloth on my new table. I wanted to be able to see it, but also be able to clean up after my children easily. I am very happy with my new furniture. Thanks, hubby.
Dan and Alex should work for ESPN; they love all things sports. On Saturday they went to an Arena Football Kids clinic.
Alex looks so tiny compared to the other kids.
And especially to that football. Later that night my boys and Bruce went to a game. The first thing Alex told me was how loud it was when the booms went off for the touchdowns. Did I mention that he has anxiety? Love that boy, even with his quirks!

June

I have been busy as of late, so I haven't been blogging much. Here is a slide show with some highlights.

Not in London

If you have got an email from me about needing money, it is bogus. I'm here the blasted hot desert, and not in London. Don't go to Western Union. Now, if you want to send cash to the house... just kidding!

Lame, boring

An over heard conversation while watching 'Music and the Spoken Word':
'Alex, will you play with me?'
'No, I'm watching this.'
'You want to watch this lame show?'
'It isn't lame. At least there are cool pictures to look at sometimes.'

I have warned the boys that this summer we are going to be BORED. I'm talking, lay on the floor and stare at the ceiling bored. Someone at church mentioned over the pulpit that they remember how summer took forever, that time was so slow. And I thought, hey that's right. Why do my kids think that they have to be going somewhere, doing something, or watching anything? So this summer we are going to try boredom. I'm hoping that this will turn into creativity, book reading, puzzle building, drawing, etc. But if it means an extra nap or counting the individual carpet fibers, so be it. (Don't worry, I won't let electronic time go completely. a) because we spend a lot of money to have access to all things electronic b) because the boys invariably want to play basketball outside of Macey's room during nap time c) because when everything is going too good in a day the best way to liven things up is to start up a fight over what they will watch/play during their e-time!)
