Attitude

Don't be fooled by this beautiful face. She has developed an attitude. Macey wants her mom, her space, and her way. I foresee many tantrums in our future!

Tuscon Getaway

We went to Tucson after the race to get away. I was planning to hide out in one of June's rooms while she played with my children (and I wolfed down the Hunger Games all the way through!) but Dan made plans for him and me to go to a resort for Sat night. It was a beautiful place up in the foothills. I really enjoyed getting away for some peace and quiet. Thank you, hubby, for taking me away.
We went back to the relative's at lunch time. The boys had fun swimming and playing with the toy stash. Macey enjoyed the Minnie ears but wasn't always sure about the animals. Thank you, Tuscon Blacks, for helping with the kids giving me a much needed break.

In this video Macey is eating cereal. Watch at the beginning how she is rubbing Maggie's paw with her foot.

Anthem Triathlon

Dan (Dan-o) and Bruce (Juice) trained all summer for the Anthem Triathlon. Race day was September 4, 2010.
Julianne and I left Goodyear at 5:45 so we could get to the race to cheer the men on. We were there for the running, but I didn't have my camera (just my phone which wasn't much of a pic). Here we are waiting on a grassy knoll awaiting our soon to be bikers.
In the distance you see Dan coming in to get on his bike.
Some runners grabbed their bikes and kept going. Dan was struggling so he had a little water break before continuing on.

Dan did see us here, but he was clearly in the zone.

Bruce did not see us here and was clearly in his own zone.
After the bike ride, the racers came to the pool.

I put this in so you can see what madness was going on in the pool

Macey holding on to the barrier. Ryan was pouting the whole morning. Imagine, a day that wasn't about Ryan...

Here is Dan at the finish. He never did tell me what his results were, but let's just say he finished and that is an accomplishment!
Here are two buddies that have done something hard together.

Dan had to work very hard to meet this goal. Afterwards he said he would never do that again, but maybe with time he'll agree to do it again. We are proud of him and can you believe how healthy he looks? He is my skinny husband!

the kids

Macey in the morning.
I gave Macey a bag of goldfish in a desperate attempt to cook dinner. She proceeded to dump the fish on the ground and had her snack.
"No people in this room: only X-Men" and "No girls except Macey and Friends" (meaning Mom)
Ryan on the first day of preschool. He has already begun his sign language and spanish specials.
Dan called me and said, 'I can get 2 tickets to tonights D-backs game.' I said, 'Oh, are you taking me to a baseball game?' We laughed together. It is funny because I just gave a talk in church about loving your spouse (and children) and talked about making time for them. Dan said, 'Do you think you would want to go more than Alex?' Nah, so I let those two go watch the Padres lose to the Diamondbacks.
Dan has begun a new adventure. He is working as a consultant and is working from home. We have yet to make a steady routine. But we did put him up in Macey's room since it was farther down the hall. I took the opportunity to paint the front room pink and yellow with help from Julianne and Ryan. I'll post pictures of the finished product once I get everything on the walls.
