Last Saturday was the Destination Imagination Tournament. Here are some pictures from that day.
Snack and shop time during an hour of down time.
Goo. They all wanted to play with this goo.
The team had to create an 8 minute play. The prompt was... Roy G Biv is having a birthday. What kind of birthday party will he have and what will you bring? Ryan was voted to be Roy. The other children were the party guests. They had to dress all in one color and give a gift in that color.
Roy the Dragon in his Rainbow House in the sky.
They made a knight with all of their gifts for the party goers to play with.
All the kids in this age group got a participation medal. The older groups are competitive and can go on to national and global tournaments.
We had fun this year. Hopefully next year another mom will step up and I can just assist!

Sea World
The boys had President's Day off so we went to San Antonio to make good use of our Sea World passes.
Macey really enjoyed this net jumping on it.
Each kid 'won' a squid. They competed against each other and let each other win... we are the proud parents of 3 squid.
Macey had her picture taken with the Sesame Stree characters.
A hug even!
Beautiful Macey.
We met the Contreras while in San Anotonio. We watched the Shamu show together.
And went to eat at Cracker Barrell. Otherwise we split up into roller coster riders, Sesame Street players, and shoppers! I wish we got a picture with our friends. It was fun to have them with us.
Macey screamed when she rode this in the fall. But this time she loved it.
A quick trip. A fun family memory building trip. A happy time!

Feb update
Here is my DI team.
The kids working out some kinks in the play.
Goofin' around. Our tournament in Saturday. Pshew! That will be a relief.
Dan took the boys to an indoor soccer game. Both boys wore their new uniforms.
Another pack meeting...
Alex earned some silver arrows this time.
Dan went to Oregon last week. Jealous... yes, yes I am. Not that I want to go to work... :)
Ryan's very first soccer game! He was so excited. He played goalie one quarter. Which was something since he had no idea what he was doing.
Otherwise, he was aggressive and confident while out on the field. He has been saying he wanted to play soccer probably for 2 years and I have ignored him... I guess he really meant it! And we had a victory over the asthma even in the cold air. Hooray!
Alex is in his 4th season with this soccer team. They have changed their name and uniforms this season. AND they started off with a WIN!!! Alex even scored.
The girls were playing dress up. What cuties!

Basketball
Our basketball season finished Saturday. The Wildcats went undefeated. After the game a family hosted a lunch and awards ceremony. This has been a great time. They work together and are improving because they care. And... they've got a great coach. ;)
January
Our red den is the most used room in our house besides the kitchen. We watch TV, use the computer, read on the couch, play on the tablet, snack, play Legos or dolls. And now that we have a basketball hoop that won't fit in the boys room we also shoot hoops.
Nice dunks, boys!
Snow! It started snowing about 6 one morning before school/work. Ryan was saying, 'Oh, my stomach hurts. I don't want to go to school.' When I said it is snowing outside, he jumped out of bed in perfect health!
The boys walked to school in the snow. I woke up sister and went out. I was afraid it would stop snowing before she woke up.
Nice outfit, eh?
I am trying to find ways to build Alex's self esteem. I made him build a shelf kit from IKEA for his Legos. He did the whole thing by himself. I only pounded in one corner to show him how to use his muscles to build it.
One Saturday I took my Destination ImagiNation team to a workshop. It was eye opening for them and good for me too. The tournament in 2/23. I hope they get ready in time!

Maybe 2 inches fell.
1st Grade got to have recess outside in the snow. You should have seen the mud the trekked inside. Ryan is the farthest right. The snow stopped by about 10 and was mostly melted by the time the boys got home from school. I am trying to find ways to build Alex's self esteem.
