Spring Break

We had last minute plans to go to Arizona for Spring Break this year. I had the chance to fly with the 3 kids alone. The kids were very excited to go on an airplane. They had all flown, but none of them could remember it.
At the airport waiting.
Macey started to feel sick. 'I feel hot all over.' I pulled out a new snap doll (Elsa to the left.) She quickly perked up. I told her I bought it for me to play with. She said, 'Well, since you are big and you don't really play with dolls anymore you could let me have it.' True. It did keep her mind off the air sickness. She slept the second leg of our flight, thankfully because I didn't have any other dolls in my bag!
The purpose for this vacation was to celebrate Grandma Frassa's 80th birthday. It was a surprise for her to have us come. See video below...

At dinner I asked Gma if she would have preferred knowing we were coming, the anticipation, or if she preferred the surprise of us just showing up. She said definitely the surprise! So that made our vacation worth it then!

Some other surprise guests included Alyssa and Brayden. Hooray!
Grandma's wishes were that we would go to the Dutton Show (a Branson show that snow birds down the street from Gma) and dinner at Carrabas.
Ryan has found a new hobby to pursue. The violin. Thanks to the Duttons Ryan has begged nearly every day for me to get the violin repaired and arrange lessons. Dan isn't sure about the price of said new found love of music, but I think it is awesome! We'll see what comes of that dream, but at least he is seeking out good things. When he first mentioned lessons I told him he would have to give up electronics. He was eager to do it!
4 Boy cousins.
A table of family.
The blood relatives. (I never saw the in-law picture, but there is one somewhere of us outsiders!)
Bob and June's posterity.

Men talking... sports perhaps... the weather maybe...
The rest of our Spring Break was divided between PHX and Tucson. Grandma June entertained us for a while.

Pizza at the park.

 Peep Wars.

 Swinging.
(Alex learned to swing on this vacation!)

One afternoon we took a trip to Collosal Cave.

Ryan said that was the coolest place he'd ever been.
I was lucky to bring back a migraine. Not so awesome!
The kids went on a scavenger hunt at the state park.
I took this picture because if you look close you can see the start of a new arm on the Saguaro cactus on the left side.

Petting zoo at park. I'll have you know that because of this little spot I have had to answer many questions about horses, donkeys, mules, and breeding. Ryan is ready to understand the birds and the bees.
 Relaxing at Gma's.
Swimming at Gma's? It was March, and the water was cold! And they only had their undies to play in.
Camping out in Bruce and Julianne's backyard. The boys stayed out there all night. We brought Macey in early because I was afraid she might wander into the pool.
Me and my dear friend Julianne. Photo bombed.

Saying good bye to the Williams.
What? These kids again? I'm glad the cousins have so much time to be buddies.
Yeah, this is blurry, but you get the point.
 Waiting at Tulsa Intl Airport
One more plane before we are home.
 Boy row.

Feb 28

What do you do when your birthday falls secondary to school and cub scouts? We had to squeeze in birthday celebrations at any time we could find!
Sister was very excited to be photographed.
 Again.
 And again.
Here is Asher and Ryan at the Winter Luau.
Winter Luau means Frozen's Olaf at a summer party (he loves summer!)
It was fun to plan and decorate for this Blue and Gold banquet.
I designed and created these awesome paper doll table décor/take home craft.

This cool palm tree ended up in EVERY picture I took of the night, so we are relying on Dan's photos for this post!
It is still the 28th, and Macey is still posing!
Here Alex is being sung to for his 11th Birthday.
Here Ryan is getting a belt loop.
Matt and Alex earned all 20 Webeloes activity badges, which makes them Super Achievers.
They got a cool plaque to honor it.
Alex, Matt and Jonathan all earned their Arrow's of Light awards.
And then those 3 boys crossed over into the 11 year old Boy Scout program.
Alex is posing with our home teacher and new scoutmaster, Don Moreland.
The arrow I crafted, Don painted and the display board Alex made.
Alex's display of awesome Cub Scouting stuff.
