Tail of October

The tailend of October was a crazy busy time for the family. Alex and Macey were finishing up their soccer seasons, Dan was traveling non-stop, and as Primary Pres. I had the Primary Program and the ward Trunk or Treat party to plan.
 Pumpkin carving with digital dad.
This year our family decided to go with Teen Titan's Go! for our costume theme. Here is a pumpkin to go with the theme: Beast Boy.
Ryan's cyclops he carved while at party next door (Xavier's family).
 Robin.
Jinx. Macey came up with this whole thing herself. She is so clever! And she looks just like Jinx.
Batman (yes, he is lame, but he is 13 so what can we expect, really?) Raven, Robin and Jinx.
Girls night! (TTG characters. One a hero, one a villain, but brought together for good times like Girls' Night!)

We got are dressed up a week early and went to charity Halloween event at FC Dallas stadium.
We brought Sebastian (ther other neighbor) with us.
Funnily enough we ran into Xavier and his sister at the party too! There was a costume parade and jump houses. Your usual Halloween good times.
 Some princesses!
Ryan was very embarrassed to have his picture taken with these princesses. However, he had to do it in order for Dad to buy him a wristband pass for the activities (which meant more candy!)
Trapped.
Wester Middle School spooky Halloween performance. It is fun that they do this concert in costume. Alex is smack in the middle of this picture, 3rd from the giraffe.
The last game of the season. Man, super glad this season is over. Hoping that soccer is calmer and Dan is around more for the next season.

Our Teen Titan's trunk for the Trunk or Treat. This is supposed to look like the Titan's living room.
We had about 130 ward members come out. It was a success. I was super thankful to all the auxiliaries that made the night a success.
This is the game the Young Men came up with for their station. Whack a Deacon. Fun!
So for our family's 'trick' at the party we handed out rocks. We had a bucket of rocks and the kids sneaked rocks into trick or treat bags. No one called us out on it, so it must have gone off smoothly. Macey thought this was hilarious and enjoyed doing it!
Batman, Robin, Raven and Jinx.
 Family Night caramel popcorn.
Alex carving his pumpkin all alone.

Alex got this pumpkin idea from a Halloween sticker. It made him so happy to have this tiny face.
Our 15th Halloween together! Dan is a good sport and probably would have worn a real costume, but he was gone so much during this time that in the end he ordered himself a TTG t-shirt instead.
Group pic, with Lucy even!

T-o-T at the next door neighbors. Maybe we just went out too early, but our street was a complete bust for candy. The kids knocked on doors for 30 min and got like 4 houses.
Our plan was to head to Plano anyway and the kids were glad we did. We ran into lots of friends and had a great time gathering up way too much candy!
 DeLucia girls.
 Mom's lunch pals.
Robin and Jinx happily happy at the end of a successful Halloween. (Next year's costume plan... anything with a box. Macey is thinking a box with a kitten for sale...)

New Mexico, part 2

 Roswell space man.
 Roswell alien body.
 Roswell aliens.
Roswell had a rock and gem shop. Man, Ryan would love to have this guy's job. Talking rocks and gems all day! And cracking open geodes! Alex got a beautiful, white geode. Ryan got a rusty one. Still looks cool, but not sparkly!
Killing time while we wait for Julianne and Bruce to meet us in Ruidoso.
Macey and I are inside a horse! And Alex is the dropping. And I suppose Ryan is the brains!
Outside our hotel window Saturday morning. The kids ran out to watch the balloon lift off.
 Cranes.
Killing more time. Dan never stops at the side of the road... Super weird to hear him say, 'Hey, let's stop here and see what's going on.' This was an iris farm.
Another stop. This place was awesome! It was a cave of wonders filled with rocks and gems.
The kids got a bucket of dirt and sand; they panned it looking for treasures.
 Big victory!
The condo was decorated in the 90's, but it was 3 floors with a pool table, 2 decks, and TVs. The best part of traveling with the Williams is that we play games. Pit was a big hit! We also played catch phrase and some spoons. Here are Ryan and I being sad that we were the big losers that night.
After church we went out to take some family photos.
 Photo bombers!
Yep, it was a beautiful place!
Now there is something you never see. Wait, uh, yeah, we gots mallards in Texas. But still, thumbs up!
My first round of golf. It wasn't pretty, but not bad. I think I should maybe practice at a driving range some before I try again.
Delicious burgers in Ruidoso. Every closes early here. The shop closed at 7:30. It felt like 10:30 when we left; it was so disorienting. There was only one server so we had to wait a while. We played pass the picture. Some unique pictures came out of it.
All in all, it was a great vacation. Glad to get a few extra days with our friends!
