March events

For Young Women's camp fundraiser I made a mermaid tail blanket and this shark afghan. Awesome, right?
On the Friday after Alex's bday he had some guys over to hangout. These buddies have been with him for a long time! Jaden, Matt and Andrew, friends since 3rd grade. I really love all these boys!
And so, I said long ago, Alex, you can have a phone when you are 14. Here is the box with the phone and the envelope with the case. Hooray! He is now a phone carrying member of Republic Wireless. Number one rule: If a parent sends a message you MUST reply...
Bishop visiting primary. These kids were playing telephone and completely botched it!
Spring Break was early this year. We stayed home nearly all week. Macey got out to go to a mini soccer clinic for 2 days. Her best buddy Aubree was there.

The other time we left the house was to go to the Ft Worth zoo. We took Jaden with us and we met up with the Sumners. It was a great time!

The boys quickly got onto WiFi as soon as they could!

St Patrick's Day. All greened up.
Poet's day. Macey had to memorize a poem and make a backdrop about it. She then stood in the hall for 2 hours while parents and the other grades came around and listened to the 2nd graders recite their poem. She did awesome, of course!
100% chance of rain on Friday. And the teachers couldn't reschedule, so got as prepared as we could and went to the arboretum during a thunderstorm.
Yes, they got all wet, but they had fun for a little while.
However, by the time lunch came we were freezing and the lightening started. The kids were very glad to get on the bus and go home! Worst field trip ever, according to Macey. But at least she will remember it. Above she is with Christian her favorite classroom partner for all projects. Below is Madison, the closest classmate in the neighborhood whom she loves to play with.
April Fool's. So my joke was to make tuna casserole and brussel sprouts for dinner. 'Ew, what is that. I am not eating that.' Dan was super confused, 'So, your just going to throw all this food out?' He ate some of the casserole, which I thought was a good sport. However, these items (Tuna Helper, gag) are fairly cheap. So it was an inexpensive gag.
Dan later rewarded me with ketchup in my straw when he offered me some cherry Dr Pepper. Nasty! Do not try at home. I'd rather eat brussel sprouts!

Feb stuff

Another Blue and Gold. As Primary President I chose to oversee the Cub Scouts. My hope was to make Cub Scouts fun!! This year, our Pack chose a camping theme.
 I made the table decor.
I offered to make a dutch oven dessert. This is chocolate cake mix, cherry pie filling and Dr Pepper. I don't know if it tasted good, but it did smell good. It took 3 days of intense soaking and scrubbing to get all this goop out of my trunk. Thankfully, it didn't spill all over the camping supplies. Only ironically, on the 'Chocolate' Macey's teddy bear!

Macers was a good sport and came with me to the event. No more Cub Scouts in my house. :(
Also, our pack is short on leaders so I have assisting at den meetings. This was Giant Marbles. The kids loved this activity!
Valentines Day! I chose to help in both kids classrooms this year. Isn't the yarn heart craft cute? That was my idea! (OK, that was Pinterest's idea, but I passed it on to someone else and they executed it!)
This waffle box was Ryan's idea. Alex helped Ry out by writing 'Loves waffles' on all the sides of the box.
My primary children during sharing time. So sweet, I love these kids!
Missionaries at a Den Meeting. This was a very cool activity!
Mr Henry celebrated 20 years of teaching TKD. He impressed everyone by breaking 4 concrete tiles.
And this is the reason I have posted on the blog in a while... This is my only picture of my boy on his 14th birthday! I think Dan has pictures from the actual birthday celebrations, but here was the cupcake in bed, family singing to him event!
