State Fair of Texas

Johanna and I went to the State Fair. We ate everything!

The baby animals made me very happy!

The baby dress got a 2nd place red ribbon.
And Jo's bday present got a 1st place Blue Ribbon!
The honor is getting the ribbon. The work of making, blocking, dropping off, eating the day at the fair, and going back to pick it up isn't for the faint of heart! But it is a fun thing to say I won a blue ribbon at the state fair!

Pre-fall

Stake Conference just before the Stake President requested no more non-worship use of phones in the chapel!
Cece found the piano!
Lawler/Wester football game. The high schoolers got out of rehearsal early to go play with the middle school kids.

Chaperoning another game!
Date night to a Rough Riders game.
Dallas Fiberfest with Johanna. When you go, you have to wear something you made!
This was a hilarious moment where another lady and I bought this specialty yarn last year, made different items, wore them to Fiberfest this year, and then ran into each other in the BOOTH of the yarn dyer! The yarn dyer was beyond ecstatic to have us there!

This year's haul.
This year's niece and nephew Halloween care packages. I wonder if these kids think I am a weirdo sending weird stuff for a weird holiday! But it gives me joy! And less guilt about missing all birthdays and Christmas!

Band night. The district has all 12 high school bands come perform in one evening. It is very cool to witness!
I made these socks!
And I made this Halloween scarf. We have had one day below 85 degrees in October. I got this done the morning of!
The monarch's pass through each fall and spring. I found this beauty and bunch of his friends on my daily 10 am break.
The band nominated Macey to the Homecoming court. She did not want this, but accepted it OK.
I repurposed Alex's mum for her, which she refused to take to school, but she could have if she changed her mind.

These are the band nominees.
These are the Sophomore nominees. MJ was greatly relieved to not become a princes!

End of summer

Macey Jane turned 15 in August.

Her big gift was a new hockey stick. Which 2 months later is already cracked, but what can you do?
15 Means a driver's permit. I took her down. She wanted to practice her signature before she got to the counter. I succeeded in having all the forms, with some extras even!

Band Preview night for the families.
Cece at a hockey game!
First football game!

Macey and I went ziplining in Plano.

It was a fun adventure in the trees!
My sewing student wanted to make something spooky.

The Frisco water tower and a longhorn from the bus window on our way to another football game.

My office isn't too far from the temple so I like to go every other week or after work.
The joy of going to a church school! Alex was working his mentor job helping new students move-in.
First day in buns and uniforms!

Here is the big Halloween quilt. I took inspiration from spider webs I found or searched on the internet for the 4 black triangles.
