In college, our Institute director counseled us to go to conference with a question in mind and look for the answer in the talks. I didn't exactly go into the weekend with that mind set, but I had had a question plaguing me as of late and was searching for an answer anywhere. Lo and behold, the first speaker addressed the very issue and immediately I knew what I need to do, (whether it will be easy or not is to be determined). I'm so thankful for continuing revelation and guidance. Of course each conference is special and speaks to me for the things I need help with at that time. If you are in tune, every meeting can be a place for growth. I especially enjoyed brother Packer's talk to us young mothers (Dan said I wasn't young. I threw something at him and told him if I'm under 30, then I'm still young!) It was nice to be appreciated. I think the brethren spend more time reassuring the single and widow mothers and it was nice to know that we too are special, even if our lives are relatively easier than some of our other sisters.
P.S. The yard work starts tomorrow!

I really enjoyed conference too. We are playing a game this Wednesday for Activity Days based on what we remember of conference so I had to take good notes. Usually I scrapbook which helps me stay awake and listen but taking notes was ten times better. It really was a great conference. I too liked the first talk by Nelson and how we need to teach our kids by persuasion instead of trying to control them and to show sincere love. Good stuff!!
Well I'm taking offence at the under 30 is a young mother... Conference was super! I am torn on which talk I enjoyed/needed the most.
I definitely needed conference this time around. I think all the mother stuff helps me get through our situation for another couple weeks before we move. Good luck on yard work.
I need to go back and read President Packers talk. Something about his voice and tone just puts me right to sleep, without fail, every conference. (Does it make me look better if I also say I didn't get any sleep the night before?)
Watch it on the 30 comment. Some of us are not so lucky to be soo young...jk. Wasn't conference amazing. I loved the talk to young mothers as well. I also loved sustaining a new prophet. What an experience. I remember when you came to the hospital when Alexis was born. I wish you could have been there this time. Some day we will live close. Take care
Okay, I need to go back and listen to the first talk. Well, all of them. I have to teach RS in June and have to select one of the conference talks that I think the brethern will not choose for 4th Sunday lessons.
From someone who is turning 40 this year and start having children at 29, YOU ARE A YOUNG MOTHER :o)
Hey thanks for making Alex available yesterday, I called Luke last night and all he could talk about was playing Transformers at the park with Alex, I hope Alex had a good time too.
Conference was A.m.a.z.i.n.g.!! Really some amazing talks and amazing testimonies!!
How's the yard coming? Hey do you happen to have Karen R's. email address? If so could you email it to me? Thanks!
