July Good Times

While Dan and Alex were at Boy Scout Camp, I took these cuties to Find Dory.
 We found her in style!
The Ward 4th of July breakfast. We woke up to lightening, but it cleared up enough for us to have a comfortable and dry party. Alex was the caller for the flag ceremony.
As Primary President, I had the privilege of rounding up the bike parade.
That night we drove to downtown Frisco, next to FC Dallas stadium. We sat so close to the fireworks that we could watch them being shot off.
Maybe a tad too close. But we could almost hear the music from the stadium that went with the fireworks show. ;)
Behold, my birthday present. A friend was getting rid of this desk and file cabinet on facebook. I sent Dan to pick it up while I was out doing something (a meeting probably since I seem to have those constantly these days!) Dan had just got home from Scout Camp and I asked oh so nicely if we could paint the office. I am in here a lot! And I was tired of the builders white. He said yes, but that would be my birthday present because he wouldn't have time to shop for me if he painted a room all day! I am super happy to have a pleasant work space!
When your best friend tells you it is time to cover your gray (white!) hair, then you should listen. I think the color we chose matches perfectly to my natural color. Alas, I am starting down the long, long road of hair coloring. But at least I didn't choose purple, which seems to be popular among boys, girls and grown women.
Watching Netflix in the summer with her dog.
A church friend invited us down to the lake to kayak with them. We were there all day. It was really fun! Alex is the big kid out, but he managed to get along with the boys and have fun too.
We signed up for free bowling this summer. We only went the one time, but there are still 2 weeks left of summer, so who knows! Macey is dressed to look like a penguin and has her penguin necklace on. Must have had an Oliver playdate after this!
Alex was awesome at helping sister bowl!
7/11 Took us to watch the Frisco Roughriders play against the NWA Naturals. Macey got a foul ball. Ryan desperately wanted one too. He is like a raven always wanting anything he deems shiny! The score was outrageous like 15-9. Arkansas couldn't pervail, but it was fun to see so many homeruns!
7/11 Also took us to get free slurpees. 50 years of slurpees! Yum!
It is cursing hot around here, but I made the kids get out and walk Lucy a few mornings. This is Alex on Ryan's electric scooter.
 And Ryan on Macey's bike!
And sister and me taking bad selfies!
Macey finally earned her scripture chart from June. She made this stuffed dog. She loved it so much we ordered her a whole set.
She did a really good job working on it.
Water Park #1. We went to Hawaiian Falls water park. It was really fun. And only 20 minutes from our house. We haven't been yet because Alex is afraid of the rides and we needed Ryan to be big enough to go on all the rides.
Here they are on the toilet bowl ride.
 Fun with Dad!
Macey wasn't tall enough for some of the big rides, which was boring for her 'cause she wanted to go. But there were a few things she could ride with Dad.
Dan went out of town and when I went in to check on Ryan I found this bundle of stuffed animals under his blanket with him. He needs a lot of attention and love to feel satisfied!
Dan had to go to Memphis two weeks in a row. On the second trip I took the kids up to visit Uncle Mike. Alex got out for a few rounds of golf.
We explored the tunnels in downtown Oklahoma City and had lunch at this yummy cafe.
We went to the Cowboy Museum. It was very cool. There was a lot of beautiful art, a mock city the kids could play in, displays about Indians, Calvary, and rodeos.
 And this giant cat.
And a play room for the little kids to pretend to camp and cowboy.
Alex and Ryan were really good golfers.
I got to drive the golf cart with this cute girl at my side.
Mike hit a few really good shots.
Macey worked on her short game.
The boys only did 3 holes each trip out, but it was enough in July!
Water Park #2. We drove down south 4 hours to New Braunfels, TX to visit Schlitterbahn Water Park. This is the weather while we drove down.
But there was a rainbow... It rained the first day until 6pm. There was lightening early in the day, so we had to wait out the storm before we could ride more rides. This day was accented with warm pool hopping!
Day 2 brought nice weather. The Falls was Ryan's favorite ride. This water park was very fun, but I don't think going on a weekend would be wise. On the pretty day it was packed and it was only a Thursday.
 No one got sunburned.
Dan is usually the photo king when we do anything, but I don't think he took a single picture on this outing.
I took some the morning of the second day, but that's all. Another thunderstorm with very cold rain hit at 4pm. We packed up the car and drove home after that!
