Aug and Sept 2021

Johanna and I get together about once a week for JoAnn shopping, exercising and grabbing lunch. On this day she was craving IHOP hash browns. So we did the mature thing and ordered the Halloween pancakes!

Alex's first UNT band concert. Dan went in person. I watched the streamed version. College performances have  great videoing!

I saw these quilt patterns and had to have them. It has been a long time since I pieced a quilt. It was a challenge, but it turned out super cute. I made this into a large 'hot pad' for the kitchen table.
I bought the supplies to make this painting so long ago, maybe last fall. One summer day I actually felt like myself again and decided to knock this project out before the feeling passed! It isn't a masterpiece, but it matches the color scheme of my living room and it brings me joy to see a piece of me returned.
The 3 amigos in jail with one lone visitor! Sometimes in Monopoly jail is the only safe place to be (especially if you're playing with Ryan!)

Sometimes sister and I pull up these pictures from 'Hi, Sweetie' ice cream shoppe just to delight in their beauty and reminisce on their deliciousness.
This hydrangea took most of summer to develop these flowers, but man, when it decided to bloom, it went all out! I have loved all the colors of these flowers. Right now they are in a dark red phase.

Here is MJ at Medical City Dallas. She finally graduated from seeing Dr Quan! 8 years later and she hasn't had another infection. Hooray!

For Macey's bday she rented 2 hotel rooms, 1 for the girls and 1 for the grown-ups. They ate ChickFilA, swam, and worked out.

I wanted to see Wicked when we were in NYC, but I couldn't get a ticket. This show was the first Broadway play to come to Dallas since Covid-19. It was so great to be out in public, enjoying theater. The musical was delightful; I'm glad I finally got to see it!
Happy Birthday, Macey!

Alex even came home for her special day!
