San Diego

We made spur of the moment plans to visit Grandma in San Diego last week. It was fun as always. We spent our time mostly at Grandma's but we did make a trek down to the ocean twice.

Start of April

Macey is sporting a pair of my pajamas pants and Ryan's pajama shirt. She loves to wear Ryan's clothes and anyones socks and jammies.

Macey being very cool during general conference.

Alex complained about our menu one week and has now decided to cook one night a week. Thank you and Hallelujah! So, week one was Hawaiian Haystacks. Week 2 was... lasagna. Sure he thought that was the easiest recipe in the kids cookbook. It was delicious but I hope he goes for some smaller meals! Week 3 was chicken empanadas. Yummy! I better have him search the cookbooks so I can grocery shop for him for next week.

I love that we are starting this tradition now. I hope that it lasts and lasts until the day he dies. Won't his wife love that he can cook one meal a week!

So, for now it is very parent involved. I figure for a year or so I'll have to teach him how to use our utensils and appliances and to actually and thoroughly read the recipes. I'm hoping that by the time he is comfortable with the stove and oven he'll have all the rest taken care of!

8 means a lot of things when you are a Mormon. For Alex it meant starting cub scouts. Which, the pine wood derby was his first event. But in April he had his first pack meeting. He earned his Bobcat and a belt loop. His best friend from school joined his pack also.

Alex painted this star on my face while holding the paintbrush in his mouth.

Our cubmaster put the awards inside balloons. The boys had to throw a dart ball to pop the balloons off of a board. A great first meeting!

A storm rolled through here and left behind a glorious double rainbow. Julianne and the kids and I took off to find the end of the rainbow. We got close to it and Ryan was sad when the sun dipped behind the cloud and the rainbow disappeared. He was really hoping to find a pot of gold at the bottom.

I'm not sure, but I guess I never taught Macey how to eat an ice cream bar.
