White Tank Mountain Hike

Our family went for a hike Saturday afternoon. The weather was perfect. I loved the rock formations and Indian drawings. Ryan and Alex aren't exactly the best hikers; they prefer to be carried!

Alas!

James has been found. He snuggled deeply into a plastic bag with fabric. Actually, it was the last car seat cooler Haylie and I made. He burrowed all the way to the middle of the folded part and probably could find no way out, or didn't want out since his teeth could have found a way. His vacation is now officially over. I don't think I'll post a picture this time!

Monday

Life just keeps getting more and more interesting. Saturday the Bishop came. I've been called to be the 2nd Counselor in Primary. It was almost exactly 3 years ago I had the same call extended to me in Bentonville. I am excited to finish the calling we moved away from. I'll be over the scouts; I don't know much more. We'll be meeting tomorrow to divi-up the rest of the responsibilities. Here is the latest on our babies. We have 4 boys/4 girls. One of the girls has a deformed foot (I just call it a club foot.) I am hoping to keep her; she is blond with white markings.Alex built this 70 piece Tranformers puzzle all on his own. He just gets smarter and smarter.

Just us

I love January! It is perfect weather. For those of you surviving the cold I send you warm wishes! The weather here is like a perfect April day, just after a rain shower. It reminds me of my hikes up 'the hill' to campus in Fayettville. I miss home!

This month has little going on. Alex has started Spanish classes once a week. Dan has a new calling at church. He is the Executive Secretary. You Mormons know what that means! Yikes! We certainly are going to miss him!
And our gerbils. Well, we have 8 babies not six! You'll probably have to click on this picture to see the little baby up close.

Cleaning

I don't think I can handle any more surprises from cleaning our gerbils cage. The day after Christmas I went to clean the cage and I could only find one of the two. I dug through the bedding and James was defiantely missing. Who knows how long he had been gone (he was shy and didn't always come out when we fed them.) So, we have been keeping an eye out and an open ended prayer for his safety. We told Alex he just went on vacation. He seemed to take it pretty well. Well, today I went to clean the cage and lo and behold... 6 little pink babies are nestled in the box with Henry. Well, Henrietta I guess. And here I was worried that he(she) was lonely. Hmmph. They will be ready for new homes in about 8 weeks. Help! I'll post a picture once they get hair.
