2015 Cub Scout Camp

I had the fun of going to Cub Scout camp all 4 days this year with Ryan. Macey went 3 days (the third day she was wore out and stayed with a friend instead). My den was the Vultures. We were a mixed group from 3 different packs. Ryan only had Asher with him this year. Getting a picture of these 2 boys is nearly impossible!
 Day one: Catapult (Angry Birds)
Rope bridge. I didn't snap a picture of Ryan on the bridge, but you get the idea.
MJ loved camp. I went to get her for lunch the first day and she asked me why she had to leave. I'm thankful for the good ladies that ran a fun Little Scout Buddy program.
 BB Guns
 Day 2: Girl Selfie
Ryan is a great archer. He has good form and upper body strength.
 Yeah, yeah..
 Day 3: BB Guns
 Nail art
 Day 4: Happy Campers
Vulture Den. By day 4 the boys had become friends, knew each others names and were proud to be Vultures!
 Marbles
 Dissecting an owl pellet; gross.
Ryan found a hummingbird skull in his pellet.
Lunch and handing out of the 'Top Cub' awards.

 Bullseye!
Oh man, this cracks me up! The kids made their own shields and were given foam 'swords'. Ryan's vulture (at first spelled voter) has armor on. No, not a silver diaper, a piece of armor.
This adds up to 12 days at Golden Arrow Cub Scout Camp. I earned my walking stick this year! You get one for 10 days of service. Ryan has one year of Cub camp left. We'll see if I get to volunteer at that one. ;)

End of May/Beg of June

Ryan earned his Bear rank. This was a quick earning. His leaders were trying to get him finished before the new program starts in the fall.

Because the month of May was such a soggy mess, field day ended up being indoors this year. Macey was paired with Kingston. They had a lot of fun!
Meg and Syd.
Ryan and Ethan. I came to help out for most of the day. I had fun playing with the kids and spending time with my friends too.
Playdate at our new house.
Macey and Ryan performed at the school talent show. Macey sang 'Give,' Said the Little Stream and Ryan performed a Bo staff kata.
Macey has been added to the chore chart. She is so big! Here she is hauling the recycling out. It is tricky to dump the bin, but she isn't afraid to try.
This is Macey being Queen of the hula-hooping contest. Extra practice at home has really helped her. Because shouldn't everyone win at least one of the field day games! This was the last day of school party.

Ryan avoiding a picture on the last day of school.
Macey, Megan and Oliver. These three were in the same class together.
I love the last day of school flag ceremony. It was hot, but so fun to have everyone together. Our last one at Wyatt.
Mia was baptized! We went to the DeLucias for brunch following meeting.

I liked this photo bomb!
Same day, Meg and Syd had a dance recital. Macey would love to join these girlies on the stage!
Same day still, Bahama Bucks with Grandma and Grandpa.
I have been waiting for the Blacks to come for a long enough trip so that we could go to the Dallas World Aquarium since we moved here. It was an awesome field trip.

We walked from the aquarium over to Klyde Warren Park. It is an overpass turned into a great greenbelt. We had lunch from food trucks and the kids played in the splashpad and on the park.

Took Macey with us to a teacher supply store and she went straight to the books!
Playdate with the Pringles.

Oliver loves penguins, so when were at the aquarium and Macey saw Best Friend penguin necklaces, she had to get them!
Penguin high-fives! These two are such cute friends!
Dan and Bob have been working on the honey-do list non-stop since Monday morning. I hope they both feel like their vacations are satisfying!

Housewarming

On Sunday we had a housewarming party. We had 53 guests to our home. It was a full house! But it didn't feel too crowded. There are no pictures of this awesome occurrence since I didn't take any and it didn't occur to anyone else to do so! But we had a fantastic time sharing our new home with a lot of the people we love. I promised a certain Grandma that I would take pictures that day of the house since it would be ready and clean. However, since zero pictures were taken then, what you have below are pictures of a lived-in house instead. ;)

Entrance.
Music room. There is a stash of stringed instruments and a trumpet on the other side of the piano.
Open area. Currently being used as a hockey rink and a workman's store room. In the background is a half bath and a study/craft room.
Family room, dining, kitchen. This is the laminate that we had installed before moving in.
The kitchen isn't updated, but I don't mind it. It is good condition and easy to keep clean.
Pantry/laundry room.

Game room. It is an L-shape.
The other half of the game room.
Upstairs taken from game room entrance. Master is to the right and the kids bedrooms at the far end.
Master.
Master closet (love the closet!)
This a little nook/hallway that the kids' rooms feed into.
Ryan's science room. (it will be awesome when we get the periodic table of the elements up on the wall!)
Alex's sports room. Also in need of some wall art over the bed.
Macey's jumble room. It needs the most attention...
Back of house. Garden area in the side yard.

View from back door. There is a lot of room for us to play. A lot of room to clean up. A lot of room for us to live in for a long time. We told the kids, we are living here until Macey moves out!
