I have been printing the scripture reading chart from the Friend magazine and writing a prize on the back when the kids complete their chart. The boys earned their prizes right away in June and got to pick out building toys.
Ryan picked this 6-1 solar robot kit. This option is the windmill.
Swimming with Sophia during another summer.
We drove out to a blackberry farm in north Texas.
The weather was warm, but not unbearable. Ryan was quick and tired first, of course.
We came home with way too many blackberries. Ryan insisted I make blackberry jam. Which I did. Which was delicious!
Alex is our berry fiend. Watch out, berries!
Macey and Megan went to Vacation Bible School together. It was a very cool experience.
Our Pringle buddies are taking hockey lessons. We met up with them for open skate.
Macers was terrified and cried for the first hour. But then she got over it and didn't want to leave.
Boys.
I took Dan on a hot date. We went to dinner at Carrabas and then I drove him to Richardson (a goodly distance from our house) to Free Play. It is a bar with tons of old arcade games. You pay a cover fee and all the games are unlocked and free to play.
We had a lot of fun playing the two player games. And Dan played Ms PacMan and was so awesome that he was bored after 20 levels!
Summer and our athletic center passes always brings us to the water park. Alex is about to dump that bucket on Macey's head.
Fun with Dad at FAC.
Not a super flattering picture, but I went out with Dani for a girls night before she left for her summer vacation. Yummy, peach raspberry smoothie at Cheesecake Factory.
Macers took two weeks of swim lessons. She was awesome. She learned how to swim freestyle and to do backstroke in a couple of days. Guess we waited a tad long for lessons!
June brings Cub Scout Day Camp. You know how we roll, so me and all the kids were sweating every evening!
We had these 4 Webelos and Sis Beuhler with us all week.
Man, can you believe how cute this camper is?! Next summer I'll have to send her to an awesome camp because she loves day camp.
I was sort of bummed that this Scout District was only babysitting for the siblings, instead of having their own program. But I guess if I want to change that, I'd better volunteer. But don't tell Dan!
The Blacks at camp!
Ryan being very serious at lunch.
These girls had so much fun together. They had sno cones every day, a bounce house, and lots of crafts.
I had to YouTube how to finish off this weaving project. It had only been 25 years since the last time I made one!
McKinney Mounted Police officer.
Best part of day camp? Shooting stuff!
A Culver's lengthy fry.
All four of our boys again!
Part of camp was in the shade, so that made lunch more bearable.
Trumpet Camp was 30 min in the opposite direction of our house every day of Cub camp. So we put a lot of miles on our car that week!
It was pretty cool, but Alex did not like getting up at 6:30 in the summer for it!
Webelos Friday. Ryan is to the left on the hardest section. He was the first kid to make the climb all day.
Alex was the Ga-ga ball referee.
One more trip to the ranges.
The trampoline is a hot place if you don't turn the hose on!
