Paddy Dash

Dan texts me on Monday, "Are we running the Paddy Dash 5K on Saturday?" Not me. Just Dan and Alex this time. They both did awesome. I was home with some stomach bug kids, and did not get to go support them this time. I am glad Dan got these pictures so we could see them in all their running glory!

Alex Fifth Place, 7:47 mile pace. Dan 8:24 mile pace.

Spring Break 2016

First trip on the roof for a stuck football. No thanks, I'll let you get it.
 3rd Afghan finished. Cute, right!?
 Before
After. Trying to keep some dirt around our pear trees.
 Yoda-le-he-hoo.
 Mmmm, churros...
Not at the mall 15 seconds and she finds this cute jewel. Anyone thinking about getting sister a gift just because you love her? She'd like this draon!
We had a Frisco stay-cation this year. Except for the one day that we went to Great Wolf Lodge, just 30 min away in Grapevine, TX.
It is a hotel theme park with an awesome indoor water park. The outside one looked cool, but it certainly wasn't open. The weather was cold and rainy for our 2 day visit.
There were like 5 huge slides, wave pool, lazy river, playgrounds...

Best part might have been the awesome breakfast buffet!

 Inside joke with the Contreras!

Macey was invited to a roller rink bday party. I think the only thing that has changed here in 30 years is the music!

Macers didn't mind. She had  a great time skating around and around and around and around...

First Teenager

When it came time to plan a party Alex had a hard time. We were doing research on awesome places to go, but in the middle of all that he turns to me and says, "Or we could just spend the money on a trampoline." Gotta love his way of thinking!
The boys played outside for 2 hours with no complaints! Friends were from Plano, church and school.
This kid is so great. "Mom, Do you think you and Macey could make me a funfetti cake?" Easiest party dessert ever!
 Pizza on the porch.
 Soccer inside.
I kind of love all the kids in this picture! Boys are loud and stinky, but they can be so great! 13 years old. Man! We are old!
Alex's actual bday fell on Sunday. Presents were limited (see the purchased trampoline) partly because this boy is content with life. The Contreras came over for dinner and ice cream sundaes that evening.

All we got him was a fitbit, which he has been wearing ever since. Record day was 26,000 steps after track and soccer practice this week!

Feb goings on

First OUTDOOR soccer game of the season.
Assistant Coach Dan to the left of number 33. Chilly morning!
Ryan and I head off to a scout activity the same day. I signed him up for a badge clinic called 'Earth Rocks' and the local outdoor museum. This was the last day for the dinos on the trail.

Maybe I need this dino at my house. It sure got a lot of attention!
Still the same day, and here we are at the LAST indoor soccer game of the season.
Watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (old school version) out on the trampoline.
Two afghan's down and one to go...
First Track Meet. Alex has a lot of growing to do before he can fairly compete with these big boys!
 He loved the Long Jump!
Choir season #5 for sister. Getting row orders organized for concert time.
Rain is a great excuse to wear all your best accessories.
Here we are. 2.5 hours in the cold.
To watch a 30 second race! 200 meters is not Alex's best event, and yet he keeps getting assigned it.
