Orbit

Alex and I painted this solar system. He got it for his birthday. We hung it up on his ceiling. He is sick today. I have a lot to do to help sister Emily get ready for her wedding day on Saturday! This will be a busy week for us Blacks in Goodyear!

San Diego

We went to San Diego on Alex's birthday. Kirsten, Mark, Trey and Coby went as well. We had a fun time going to Sea World, to the bay to fly kites, to the canyon to play in the mud and to dinner for fresh sea food. Thanks to Grandma for hosting us once again. Thanks to Trey for giving up perfect attendance to play with Alex. I know he had a much better time because you were there.

Happy Birthday Party!

Alex had a birthday party early. We are going out of town on his bday, and wanted to have friends over before we left. Luke, Stan, and KC joined our 2 boys for a Transformer fest. They watched a cartoon while they ate pizza; they played 2 games; they ate the cupcakes (that turned out pink!); they went for an All-spark hunt; they had a little free time to play. Thanks friends for coming. Thanks, Sara, for your help. We had a lot of fun and hope the boys did too. Bytheway, 5 kids is a perfect number for a boy party!

February summed up

We have had a lot of fun this month. Here are a few pictures to prove it. Today is slide show day because it is faster. Enjoy!

The Letter "B"

Because we have the letter "B" as the beginning of our surname, Dan is now the basketball coach of Alex's team. We wondered why no one had called us to tell us they were his coach. A few hours after this discussion the Rec center called and said, "All the teams have a coach except yours. Do you know anyone that would want to be coach?" Which was a somewhat nice way of saying, "Please coach your son's team!" Let us add to the confusion... this un-coached last team is also the black team. No, no, not the (Dan) Black team, the Black (color) team. Well, who thought of calling the parent of the only kid on the team whose name would cause unneeded confusion. We are used to confusion though. My somewhat senile great Aunt thought that Alex was black (skin color) because of his birth announcement. Don't worry there will be pictures (well, if Dan is coach there won't be as many). We'll keep you posted.

2-Wheel

This will be self evident, but Alex is learning to ride '2 wheel' as he calls it. People have asked, "Isn't it harder in the grass?" No, he does better controlling the steering in the grass. Also, you may wonder what the crazy handle on the back of his bike is. It is a buddy bar (purchased at Wal-Mart for $16). This gives the adult better leverage for the few days of learning. Is this $16 well spent? Heck, yeah! I'll be loaning it out to anyone in need when we are done. Did you notice my new haircut? Yeah, it is pretty cool. I'll put on a better picture another day.
